Role Summary:

In this role, you’ll be tasked with performing essential duties as a part of the algorithm development team, which participates in activities for Iontra’s research and product development projects. You’ll be responsible for developing and commercializing bleeding-edge charging algorithms to integrate into charging products and R&D platforms. This is a full-time software role, which can be performed remotely, in our Centennial, CO office, or hybrid in a fast-paced startup.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·       Implementing and maintaining the R&D and commercial platforms for use in internal experiments and customer products

·       Working with controls engineers, DSP engineers, and data scientists to implement prototype charging algorithms that incorporate new battery models and signal processing techniques

·       Owning the implementation of DSP and controls algorithms in Embedded C++ and optimizing those algorithms for execution in resource-constrained embedded environments

·       Designing and executing validation tests for new features, to test charge performance and benchmark CPU/memory requirements

·       Using Python for simulations and data processing, and presenting results to members of the management team

·       Conducting technical reviews and participating in peer code reviews to provide teammates with comments and ensure software robustness

·       Using Agile project tools to track progress and provide insight to peers about ongoing efforts

·       Mentoring other DSP software engineers on code design and best practices for software development

You’ll Need These Qualifications:

·       Master’s or Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field with 2+ years of relevant experience in an industrial or academic setting.

·       2+ years of experience writing object-oriented software in embedded C/C++ and Python

·       Comfortable with data processing/analysis using Python or another similar language

·       Experience with Git or other version control software

·       Ability to work in both a team environment and autonomously

·       Ability to communicate technical data effectively, both verbally and in written reports

Desired Qualifications:

·       Experience implementing Python bindings for C/C++ (ex: using a library like pybind11)

·       Comfortable writing and optimizing C/C++ for embedded microcontrollers, especially those in the ARM Cortex-M family

·       Familiar with digital signal processing and control theory concepts, such as PID and FFTs

·       Experience with Agile development methodologies

Benefits and Compensation:

Role Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and motivated embedded software developer to join our world-class engineering team. In this role, you will help build, test and integrate the software required for Iontra BMS system. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of specialists, and engineers to flawlessly fill in the blank for various battery charge and management systems.

This is a full-time role located in our Centennial, CO or Plano, TX office in a fast-paced startup

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop robust embedded software for assigned products.

·         Integrate software components, build and run unit-level, system-level tests with hardware-in-the-loop simulator.

·         Defining and managing hardware-to-software interfaces.

·         Design and implement drivers for embedded system peripherals.

 

You’ll Need These Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM degree.
  • 2+ Years of embedded Software development in fast paced environments
  • Experience with GIT or similar version control system.
  • Experience with Jira similar activity management tool.
  • Proficient in software development in C/C++
  • Understanding of software development process from requirement collection to software release.

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Experience of digital communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, UART, CAN, SPI, I2C).
  • Experience of common embedded system priphries ( ADC, GPIO, Memory, Timer).
  • Experience in the Battery Management System
  • Skilled in Python and other high level programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience in CD/CI, Docker, and software build tools and process

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the battery charging technology. What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Lead and manage the embedded software team in successfully implementing advanced battery technologies in Iontra products
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure efficient operations
  • Work with cross-functional teams and senior leaders on the product Roadmap, and drive the software development plan accordingly
  • Grow and mentor dedicated individuals and future leaders
  • Develop system and software requirements and specification documents.
  • Design software architecture and implement the solution.

You’ll Need These Qualifications:

  • Masters or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM degree.
  • 10+ Years of embedded Software and systems engineering in fast paced environments
  • Proven track record of successfully leading embedded software development projects from inception to delivery.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in building maintainable and versatile multithreaded and multi-process applications in an RTOS environment.
  • Understanding of digital communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, UART, CAN, SPI, I2C).
  • Proficient in developing applications using C/C++.
  • Proficient in applying embedded software testing frameworks.
  • Ability to support and driven an environment with high accountability and ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    What You’ll Be Doing:

     

    ·       Architecting and leading electronics hardware for battery applications

    ·       Drafting schematics and using PCB CAD layout software

    ·       Interfacing with embedded systems that are a mix of hardware and software

    ·       Outlining, defining and performing engineering tests

    ·       Working with standard EE tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, etc.)

    ·       Writing and maintaining documentation with Atlassian based tools and git version control systems

    ·       Mentoring team members on their portions of the design and improving their skillsets

     

     

    You’ll Need These Qualifications:

     

    ·       Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar field

    ·       7+ years of experience working in a relevant role designing electronic hardware

    ·       Experience with ground up PCBA design, from specification to assembled product

    ·       Proficient in system architecture, circuit design and simulation

    ·       Power electronics or switch mode power supply design experience

    ·       Understanding of embedded systems design and related concepts

    ·       Strong problem solving and debugging skills

    ·       Familiarization with testing methodologies and best practices

    ·       Clear communicator and collaborator with team members

     

    Desired Qualifications:

     

    ·       Experience with digital power control and implementing application specific microcontrollers(TI C2000, STM32            D-power or equivalent product lines)

    ·       Knowledge of battery systems

    ·       Developed embedded system firmware

    ·       Test fixture/jig design for production or test environments

    Salary Range: $120k - $140k (salary is based on education, experience, skillset, and market value).
